Dandara Amorim Veiga
started her ballet training at the age of 13, at the Projeto Social Primeiros Passos in Alegrete-RS, Brazil. Although she started ballet training later, she grew up around Capoeira because her parents used to be teachers of this Brazilian martial arts and dance technique.
In her second year into ballet training, Dandara joined the Escola de Dança Ballerina, Alegrete-RS. During this time, the school provided opportunities for her to participate in dance competitions, receiving scholarships to Studio Margarita Fernandez (Argentina), Opus Ballet (Italy) and Annarella Academia de Ballet e Dança (Portugal). Dandara has participated in dance festivals all around the world and received many scholarships for renowned institutions. She has performed in events such as Vibe Competition (Montana/US), Assamblé International (Toronto/Canada), and the Ailey Spirit Gala (New York/US).
Dandara has had the opportunity to work with prestigious choreographers such as Charla Gen, Robert Battle, Caridad Martinez, Claudia Zaccari, Jean Emille, Ray Mercer, Raul Candal, Melanie Futorian, Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, Benny Royce, and Edward Liang. She is currently a company dancer of Ballet Hispanico @ballethispanico, with past performances such as Vail Dance Festival, Fall For Dance, Hudson River Dance Festival, and many others.
