Daniel Randall Durrett
is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio and started dancing when he was 5 years old at Dr. Lyrica Joy Ministries Ballet School. He went to train at UpTown Arts for 2 years before he joined Cincinnati Ballet Otto M. Buding Academy in 2005. At Cincinatti Ballet, Daniel trained for 8 years, really working on perfecting his technique and artistry and in 2013 he was a finalist at YAGP in New York City. Two years later, he won a gold medal in the professional division of the Indianapolis International Ballet Competition. After graduating at Cincinnati Ballet Academy in 2013,
Daniel moved to Houston, Texas to join Houston Ballet II and later became a member of Houston Ballet, where he performed vastly both classical and contemporary works until 2017. Daniel is currently a corps de ballet member of the Boston Ballet, since 2017 he has had the chance to perform great classics and work with renowned choreographers. Daniel has performed a diverse repertoire with the companies he has worked. While with Houston Ballet II he performed Ben Stevenson’s the Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty, Calling by Ma Cong, Mortal Form by Garrett Smith, as well as the Principal role in George Balanchine’s Allegro.Brillante. With Houston Ballet he also performed Justin Peck’s Year of The Rabbit, Cacti by Alexander Ekman and Son of a Chamber by Stanton Welch. With Boston Ballet he has performed George Balanchine’s Agon (Bransele Simple), Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 2 (Pas de Trois), Romeo & Juliet by John Cranko (Benvolio), William Forsythe’s Blake Works I, Playlist (EP), Pas/Parts 2018 and In the Middle - Somewhat Elevated, Fancy Free by Jerome Robbins (1st Sailor) and ‘In Creases’ by Justin Peck.
