Giovanna Amaral

is originally from Campos dos Goytacazes, Brazil. She started dancing when she was 7 years old in a community dance project and at the age of 11 she received a scholarship to train at Academia Flexus. After 3 years, she received another scholarship to train at Centro de Artes Madeleine Rosay for 2 years. She then attended a summer intensive at Ballet Marcia Sampaio and was invited to stay year round. She was there for 2 years before joining the pre-professional company Companhia Brasileira de Ballet. She is currently in her last year as a student at Maria Olenewa Dance School, where she performs with the pre-professional company and as an apprentice with the main company of Theatro Municipal of Rio de Janeiro.
