Valdenir Oliveira

was born and raised in Mato Grosso, Brazil and didn’t start dancing until he was 18 years old. In 2008 he joined Academia Líder de Artes(Projeto Fundação André e Lúcia Maggi) and trained there for 2 years. In 2010 he was accepted into Escola do Teatro Bolshoi in Brazil, where he graduated in contemporary and classical ballet in 2012. While training at Bolshoi School in Brazil, Valdenir performed with AMA Cia de Dança. He has also performed with Cia Jovem Bolshoi Brasil until 2014, when Valdenir was invited by the artistic director of Joburg Ballet to join the company in South Africa. He returned to Brasil and moved to Rio de Janeiro where he worked with Grupo Cultural de Dança da Ilha. In 2017 he moved to New Jersey, USA to work with Atlantic City Ballet and that is where he is currently a company member.

His repertoire include Don Quijote, Le Corsaire pas de deux, The Nutcracker, La Bayadere, Raymonda, Giselle and contemporary works World Net (Luiz Fernando Bongiovanni Martins), What if I told you my secret? (Clebio Oliveira), Timeless (Amarildo Cassiano) and Elixir (Philippe Trehet). Valdenir also has experience with Brazilian folk dances Frevo, Maracatu, Boi Bumba and more. He is also a ballroom dancer of Brazilian Forro, Bolero, Valse, Samba and Tango. In addition to working with Atlantic City Ballet, he is also a dance instructor at Arlin’s Dance Spot.
